Put each detail under the line it belongs to.
Nested bullet notes use indentation to show relationships. A top-level line holds the subject, and the lines beneath it hold its details.
Start with a flat list
Write one thought per line. Press Enter to add the next item. You can begin before you know which lines belong together.
Indent the related lines
Use Tab to place a line under the item above it. Use Shift+Tab when a line needs to move back out.
Hide or open the detail
Collapse a branch when you only need its heading. Open that branch as the current view when you want to work with its contents alone.
